…All he has to do is come up to you when you’re winning big att Faro or roulette and strike up a conversation. I don’t know if it’s the way he talks or what he says, but if a man’s luck is running hot, after a minute with this Tannen character, chips start heading the wrong way across the table. It’s not cheating, at least not that I’ve been able to tell. He’s never anywhere near the game the mark’s playing; he simply stops by and invites himself to chat for a spell…
This here’s Mr. Tannen. He’s another shady character for my Dark Debts crew. He was not a joy to paint. Not sure why, but he just didn’t do it for me. Plus his glasses looks a bit more like goggles on the actual model, compared to the great ones in the artwork.
Now that he’s done, though, I’m fairly pleased. It’s a small model without too much details, so there’s not a lot to do, but he still has a lot of character. I think he might grow on me, now that I don’t have to paint him any more.
Sort of hard to tell from the pictures, but he’s “walking” a coin between his knuckles.
And I added some cards to his base, partly because the casino theme, and partly because he tends to bleed peoples hands of cards in…notime. If he gets close enough that is. And doesn’t die in the progress.
Oh, and for the sake of it, here’s Mr. Tannen’s very unofficial soundtrack:

It may be hard to believe, but I’ve managed as a Resurrectionist player around 3 years without having used a Grave spirit. Well, now he’s finally up and painted. All I need now is a Dead rider or Izamu to stick him on!..
Yeah, I got neither. Can’t be that cheesy. Got a triangularly head shaped lovechild I’m looking at proxying as Izamu though.
If Speed painting and feverish flu had a lovechild, it would be this paintjob. I needed him painted for a tournament this February, so I went “Games workshop-scale-painting-time-per-model” on him. Excluding some time inbetween to dry, I think he took roughly 30 minutes to paint up and base, after being primed. See, I can paint quickly as well. See you once my next model is finished, in 1-2 months…

After close to a week of fever, I’ve at least managed to snap some photos of an old mini, and finished up some old work. A Neverborn Depleted with some added poker chips on its base. Malifaux, of course, like most stuff these days.

Graveyard all done!
It’s the first peace of my to-be wintery gothicy horrible..-y graveyard board. Original idea was to have a “Gotham city cemetary” feel to it – and it always snows in Gotham city cemetaries, for some reason. It ended up with a more frosted/tundraish look than christmasy, since I wanted to include some grass and mud and such. It was probably 4 years since I last produced a peace of terrain, so I’m still trying to get the hang of how to do it properly, but I’m satisfied with the outcome.
